Biography
Chief (Dr. ) Michael Ade.Ojo was born on June 14, 1938 at Ilara-Mokin in Ondo State , South West of Nigeria. He studied Business Administration at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and graduated in June, 1965.
On leaving the University, he worked with some multinationals including C.F.A.O (which had sponsored him in his last two years in the university) and the then British Petroleum (BP) now African Petroleum Plc. As a marketer in BP, he was disappointed when a man he outclassed was promoted to become his direct boss. This he considered very unfair especially because he had just then helped boost the company’s sales by about 25% with the winning over of a new contract. He left the job to serve himself at a time when it was considered insanity to leave the certainty of a colonial job for the uncertainty of private enterprise. The result was the establishment of a small family business (with his wife) now known as ELIZADE NIGERIA LIMITED.
Today, the Company which Chief Michael Ade Ojo started with just one support staff in 1971 has become a giant with several subsidiaries including Toyota Nigeria Limited, Oodua Creations Limited, Crown and Gold Shipping Company Limited among others. In addition, he is the Chairman of various Companies including Moorhouse Sofitel Limited, Imperial Telecommunications Limited and Custodian & Allied Insurance Company Limited.Chief Michael Ade Ojo is an ardent supporter of education. He set up the Ade Ojo Scholarship Scheme in 1991 under which more than seventy (70) indigent students have so far benefited. His current project is the ELIZADE UNIVERSITY whose vision is to produce world-class technical graduates and entrepreneurs.
Chief Michael Ade Ojo has attended several top management development courses including the Chief Executive Program of the Lagos Business School(CEP-7).
A devout Christian, he is happily married with children and grand-children.
